  • Explain - background info + how to tie round turn & 2 half hitches + reminder of speed control methods
  • Demonstrate - Show students 'how' - highlight PAME
  • Imitate - Students 'have a go' or 2
  • Correction - Offer students input on ways to improve
  • Training (Try Again) - Let your students have another go, or 2
  • Summary - Wrap up session
  • Plan - Identify buoy, familiarise with direction of drift, prepare mooring line, brief crew
  • Approach from downwind
  • Manoeuvre - Close reach, fill & spill to control speed. Luff up. Pick up mooring on windward side. Secure to mooring. Raise centreboard, drop sail/s, raise rudder. 
  • Escape - Turn away or depower or sail backwards
